Marble bathtub and bronze serpent faucet.
This project represents a wonderful opportunity to maximize function in a custom bronze sculpture. Co-conceived by designer Michael Sagouspe and Jonathan Newell, the body of this serpent was sculpted in three sections which appear to cradle the massive stone tub while emerging from the surrounding glass tile floor. The head is of course be the faucet, the mid- section, a useful step for entering the deep tub, and concealed in the tail the overflow plumbing. "The exquisitely carved nautilus tub truly deserves the lavish accessorizing we have garnered it with."

Here Jonathan has started laying up plastelina clay to a form attached to the floor on site next to the glorious carved stone bathtub.

We have named the serpent!
Hydrophillus mystioculatus; this species belongs to the genus of sea snakes, Hydrophillus meaning "drawn to or belonging to water" and as discoverers of this unique species we are honor bound to complete the title with the appropriate nomenclature. Hence, the species name mystioculatus refers to the creature's elegant moustache and brow whiskers.
